It is a
pleasure being just 15 minutes from Cambrils’s golden beaches, surrounded by a
world of tranquillity and of course Priorat’s great wineries. This is truly a
privileged spot nestled between Porrera and Falset.
Pine-trees,
holm oaks, olive trees and vineyards accompany us on our way to the house on
Major Street. The building was renovated in the 19th century, yet still
maintains the elegance of a home belonging to an important land-owning family.
The Catalan Autonomous Government has declared it a listed building.
The
spacious rooms, beautiful stencilled motifs on the walls, its original
paint-work and most importantly Art Nouveau (Modernist) furniture transmit
comfort and times gone by.
All seven
rooms have large, full-length balcony windows, many with private outdoor
terraces for guests to enjoy.
The
fragrant balconies allow guests to enjoy a private, family orientated
establishment with a homely air. There is a private Mediterranean garden and
small open air water tank – an ideal place for a quiet afternoon read on a hot
summer’s day.
